JOB TITLE – Datacenter Infrastructure Department Manager
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Datacenter Infrastructure Department Manager to lead our infrastructure operations with efficiency and precision. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing management directives, ensuring seamless operational workflows, and optimizing infrastructure performance to drive business success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a bridge between leadership and operations, executing directives effectively while identifying new opportunities for optimization.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the infrastructure operations team, encouraging a mindset of continuous improvement and adaptability.
- Provide forward-looking quarterly reports detailing infrastructure analysis, forecasting, and maintenance schedules to the VP of Operations, helping to preempt challenges before they arise.
- Collaborate with operations teams to enhance efficiency and ensure smooth daily functions, always seeking ways to streamline processes.
- Offer leadership on infrastructure activities, overseeing project implementations in coordination with the Engineering team while ensuring scalability for future growth.
- Develop and maintain critical documentation, including the Facility Manager playbook, ensuring it reflects the latest industry best practices.
- Oversee infrastructure vendors, evaluate service contracts, and negotiate pricing with a long-term, cost-effective perspective.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards through strategic resource planning and proactive equipment management.
- Manage support team scheduling and coverage, ensuring flexibility to meet evolving operational demands.
- Assess and review team performance to foster ongoing development and innovation.
- Plan and oversee installations, migrations, and refurbishments, ensuring that infrastructure remains updated on technological advancements.
- Coordinate routine and preventive facility maintenance with a data-driven, proactive approach to optimize infrastructure longevity.
- Inspect buildings and recommend future-proof repair or renovation solutions that minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
- Supervise infrastructure personnel and contractors, ensuring teams are trained in any latest developments.
- Maintain thorough financial and non-financial records related to infrastructure operations, leveraging data insights to inform decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in data center infrastructure management or a related field, with a track record of staying updated in industry trends.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on foresight, efficiency, and optimization.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with an ability to identify and implement innovative solutions.
- Proficient understanding of HVAC/cooling, electrical systems, and building infrastructure maintenance.
- Ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts with a strategic, long-term vision.
- Experience in budgeting and financial tracking for infrastructure-related expenses, leveraging predictive analysis to optimize costs.
